EMERGE FESTIVAL
Festivals are always a perfect way to celebrate Spring. With entertainment and art, delectable food and niche stalls, there is always something for everyone - and the Emerge Festival is no exception.
Held in the Chatswood CBD, the Emerge Festival is an annual favourite for both the local community and visitors alike. The event is run by Willoughby Council for the entirety of September and offers a variety of activities in a celebration of community and culture. From the 1st to the 30th of September, you can find an artistic array of professional performers, creatives, youth events and cultural endeavors, many of which are free and others offered for a small cost.
One of the highlights being held during the Emerge Festival is the StreetFair. Undoubtedly an entertainment filled day to brighten up your weekend, the fair includes a lively parade with over 1000 performers twirling their way down Victoria Avenue. You have your pick of jewellery, nicks and knacks and delicious foods amongst the market stalls and if you’re bringing the kids, The Concourse will have a fun zone to keep them busy. The StreetFair is on Saturday 1st September and runs from 10 am to 4pm. Get in early to make the most of the day - find out more here
Each day during the festival there are a multiplicity of free activities throughout the Chatswood CBD. These include workshops, large scale video demonstrations, public art installations, mixed media and, interactive performances.
The event is a refreshing way to engage with art and culture within the community of Chatswood and The Sebel Sydney Chatswood is right in the middle of all the festival fun.
A solo stroll around the events or a weekend family affair, the festival is bound to have something for everyone!
